Magnum has long been committed to a policy of social responsibility by being a caring and responsible corporate citizen, especially in promoting excellence in education.

Magnum joints effort with Maju Institute for Education Development ("MiED") in motivating students from the Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Tamil) to pursue excellence academic achievements by sponsoring the annual President's Achievers Award i.e. MiED Award.

MiED, the educational flagship of Malaysia Indian Congress ("MIC"), has been tirelessly catering for changing the educational needs of the Indian students in the country. In 1999, MiED started giving out education award with only 45 students receiving the trophy for achieving academic excellence in the Ujian Penilaian Sijil Pelajaran ("UPSR") examination.

When the President's Achievers Award aka MiED Award was introduced in 2003, the number of students receiving the award increased significantly to 357. The MiED Award has given great inspiration to students from the Tamil schools to strive for excellent academic achievements in the UPSR examination.

During the MiED Award Presentation Ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur this year, 750 students who achieved straight "A"s in the UPSR examination were awarded MiED Award. The number of students receiving the Award this year increased stunningly by 110% compared to only 357 students in 2003.

The tremendous increase in number of students with straight "A"s shows the commitment of MiED towards promoting excellence in education. With the same objective in mind, Magnum sponsors the MiED Award since 2003.

Having a role to play in the President's Achievers Award is indeed a great pleasure to Magnum. Not only are we given an opportunity to lend a hand in this good cause, we are also exercising our corporate responsibility to help develop our nation’s most important resource - the youth.
